World’s first-ever metaport at BLR Airport

Bengaluru International Airport, also known as Kempegowda International Airport, has inaugurated a phygital area where travelers may engage in networking, entertainment, and shopping for the first time – metaport.

Metaport features Terminal 2 of Bengaluru International Airport. The project was constructed using Polygon and is powered by Intel and Amazon Web Services. This is an exclusive launch on Polygon that can be accessed by visiting www.blrmetaport.com.

This is the first time a metaport has been launched anywhere in the world, not just in Bengaluru. It would be accurate to state that India has set an example by taking a decisive move forward in the technology sector, which is committed to Web3.

In addition to Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Machine Learning, Augmented Reality, the Internet of Things, and Cloud Computing, the Metaport platform is supported by blockchain technology.

Polygon has long advocated for the development of Web3 experiences; therefore, the debut of metaport is a significant achievement. This comes after the company’s collaborations with Coca-Cola, Starbucks, and Instagram. After executing its first DeFi transaction on the network, JPMorgan landed on the list. This was then used to execute the first-ever tokenized foreign exchange transactions across borders.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi recently inaugurated Terminal 2 at Bengaluru International Airport. With only one month until the terminal’s full operation, it was an event to remember. Reportedly, it can handle 25 million flyers in a year.

It has been constructed in two phases, with the initial phase costing approximately 5,000 crores. Phase 2 is currently being worked on, and its completion is anticipated soon. In addition, the 10-lane access road has not yet been constructed. Domestic flights will be prioritized in Terminal 2, followed by international flights once the immigration and international cargo facilities are operational.

The metaport, however, provides a digital representation of an international airport. The inauguration was on November 11, 2022, and right now looks like the best time to launch the metaport.

The news about the metaport was shared by Polygon through its official Twitter handle.

Members of the community have taken this update on the best note. These ties, according to one participant, make them optimistic about the future of blockchain technology and metaverse projects. In addition, Polygon receives praise for developing such projects on the network.

In the crypto market, the price of MATIC has not changed. It reached $1.29 to enter the top 10 cryptocurrencies globally, but metaport achieved little to increase its price on the exchange. Since the FTX issue has taken control of the industry, MATIC may really lose value. The token has lost 30% in the past week, and further losses are expected in the days ahead.

In times like this, partnerships and launches are advantageous because they lend legitimacy to networks.
